Music with a difference, Sufi style

If it is an event by Husn Ara Trust, it ought to be worth attending. This is the frank opinion of an increasingly large number of social elites in Delhi, who are attend the grand evenings organized by the Trust, on regular basis. These social elites include the likes of Tejender Khanna (Lt. Governor, Delhi), Sheila Dikshit (Chief Minister, Delhi), Syed Sibte Razi (Former Governor), AR Kidwai (Former Governor), AM Ahmadi (Former Chief Justice), Ram Jethmalani (Senior Advocate), Kuldeep Nayar (Senior Journalist), Mohsina Kidwai (MP), Ashwani Kumar (Director, CBI), KS Mehra (Commissioner MCD), MS Sultan (Senior IFS) and lot many others. Patronized by none other than Zaheer Zaidi, who besides being a businessman also belongs to Delhi’s elite social circles, and run by Kamal Haider, the Trust has nearly 50 big and small events to its credit.
A good number of who’s who of Delhi’s glitterati were present, as usual, at the ‘Sada-e-Sufi’ program organized by the Trust at Delhi’s India Habitat Centre. With an aim to spread the message of Vasudeo Kutumbkam and the true Islamic teachings of peace and global brotherhood, as taught by Sufis, the evening was rendered memorable by Ustad Adil Husaini (who presented composition of Maulana Romy and Ameer Khusrau), which was followed by qawwali by Ustad Merajuddin Khusravi and group. The audience sat spellbound all through the program.
